Happy 3rd Birthday, Samuel!

Sam shares his birthday with someone very special, his Grandpa Gary! We wish them both a very happy day today!!!

The Countdown Is On...

Sam will turn THREE in in five days. This means there is a lot of birthday talk around our house these days. I often ask him what he wants to eat at his birthday party because I think it's cute to hear his response. Peter has been telling me that soon Sam will get sick of me asking the same questions over and over again. Well, that happened. Sam finally said to me this week, "Mom, I'm not interesting to talk about ice creams anymore."

By the way, he wants pizza with pepperoni and olives, chocolate cake and strawberry ice cream. And he wants to have a dinosaur party with pink balloons:)

Baby Cousins

Juliet turned five months old yesterday, and Charlie is four months old today! Aren't they the sweetest little cousins:)

Mother's Day

I might be a little biased, but I think that my kiddos are the cutest and the sweetest in the world. They (and my loving husband) took me out for a great breakfast on Mother's Day. Sam insisted on ordering the giant waffle (pronounced 'awful' by Sam) and ate about 25% of it. I also got the chance to take a two hour nap (rare!) before we headed down to my parents' house for a Mother's Day dinner.

Sam feeding Charlie for the first time. He has adjusted so well to his role of big brother, and he is so sweet, loving, and gentle towards Charlie. I hope it stays that way!

Charlie is almost four months old now. Sam was always such an easy going baby, so lots of people have joked that our second child would be a handful. So far, Charlie is proving everyone wrong by being as equally easy going. He's definitely into a eat, play, sleep routine that repeats throughout the day. He's still up a couple times a night, but he understands that he is just up for a nighttime feeding and then goes straight back to bed. He's incredibly smiley, and just recently he has started to laugh or giggle (Sam can get him to do this). Next week we have Charlie's four month doc appointment and Sam's THREE year doc appointment. I can't believe how quickly both our boys are growing up!

Sweetest Dog

Our dog, Oscar, is the sweetest little pup around. He barks a little more than we'd like, but he's just trying to protect us from all the mean squirrels and bunnies that run through our yard. He also loves to cuddle and jumps into our laps to do so all the time. Apparently, he also loves to snuggle up on Charlie's blankets.

SamTalk

1) As Peter was about to leave to run a few errands, I said "We are almost out of milk, could you pick some up?" Then Sam chimed in and said "Daddy, we are also out of bananas. Could you pick up some bananas too?" This was a fact. We were indeed out of bananas.

2) I asked Sam what he was going to give me for Mother's Day. His immediate response (with much enthusiasm), "A big glass of chocolate milk!" I can just imagine his thought process "hmm, what do I really like, oh, chocolate milk, that must mean that Mommy really likes chocolate milk too!"

3) Other Favorite Sam Lines:

I feel like no talking. (says when he is crabby)

My tummy is feeling very hungry for oatmeal. (says this every morning)

Is it my turn to talk? (says this to interrupt another person's conversation)

I have a secret for you. (this means he has a question)

I'm am. (I am. For example, "Sam pick up your toys." "I'm am."

On Saturday, Candy and I hosted a baby shower for Amy, who is due in just nine weeks! We can't wait for our little niece or nephew to arrive, and we had a fun time watching her open all of her adorable baby gifts!
