Nickelodeon Universe

We met Robin and the kids at the MOA yesterday, and Sam had his first Nickelodeon Universe experience with his cousins, Will and Wyatt. He LOVED the rides and was smiling like crazy. It's so precious how such a simple thing can bring SO much joy to a child.

Ouch! Part Two

The regular readers of our blog may remember this picture from last spring when Sam was defeated in a fight with the sidewalk during an afternoon walk:
Unfortunately, he decided to take the sidewalk on again this spring. The score: Sam - 0, Sidewalk - 2.

At least he's still smiling:)

Cousin Playdate

Robin and the kids came over today for a playdate. The boys had a great time playing (especially with the remote control cars), and the babies did their thing too:-)

Wyatt, Will, and Sam Charlie and Juliet
Four new posts today...so keep reading below!

The Boys

Oscar

Two kiddos in the house means less space. Oscar, as a result, has been finding some interesting places for naps.

First Zoo Trip of the Year

I took BOTH of the boys to the zoo for the first time. Charlie slept through the entire thing except for a brief feeding session. It was a pretty mild day, so we were able to do the outside trails too. We ran into Casey and her two girls, and Sam has been talking about his friend "Kaffrin" (Kathryn) ever since. The two of them had a great time running the trails to burn off some energy!

More Samtalk

Last week I worked out for the first time since Charlie was born. That night, when I got up to feed Charlie, my legs collapsed underneath me because they had turned to jello from my workout. Luckily, I was not yet holding Charlie, and I caught myself on the bed. While sharing this story with Peter, Sam said "Mommy, I hope you don't fall down on the bed and break yourself because you are my favorite Mommy."

In church on Sunday, I was kneeling and praying after communion, and Sam asked what I was doing. I told him this was the time during church where he needed to fold his hands and pray for something in his head instead of out loud. He folded his hands and squeezed his eyes shut for a few seconds. When he opened them, I asked what he prayed for. He responded in a quiet whisper with a smile on his face: "Balloons."

Six Weeks Old

Wow! Charlie turned six weeks old on Monday already. The time has flown by, and we've enjoyed watching him grow up a little bit. Here's what he has been up to:
*Smiling, though only right after a feeding when his tummy is full:)
*Making small cooing noises
*Tracking toys with his eyes
*Batting at toys while in his bouncy seat (though this is probably accidental)
*Holding his head up
*Being held, he prefers this most of the time
*Rollling over from tummy to back, I kid you not! Okay, so when I prop him up on his elbows he eventually falls to one side, and then eventually kicks the other leg over so he's on his back. It's probably just a fluke, but it has happened SEVEN times. I'm not counting or anything...
*Eating, 8-9 times a day, and eating a lot. I'm pretty certain he is over 10 pounds now.
*Sleeping, and I had MY first four hour stretch of sleep the other night when he went five hours between feedings. Now if only that could happen more often...
...and here are a few pictures to enjoy (okay, more than a few, I can't help it)!
Charlie does NOT like it when you unswaddle him.

Our happy little guy!
